eBay Fee Calculator
Estimate eBay-style selling fees, amount received, and profit while keeping unverified marketplace rates out of calculator logic. Inputs stay in your browser and are not sent to a server.
What this calculator does
Estimate fees for a sale using seller country, buyer country, currency, and operating costs.
Use compare mode to see how eBay-style assumptions compare with the other MVP platforms.
Use reverse mode to estimate what to charge when you want to receive a target amount.
How seller fees are usually calculated
eBay fees can vary by marketplace, seller account type, category, item price, shipping, optional upgrades, promotion tools, and international sale conditions.
Some marketplaces use tiered final value fees, so exact modeling requires careful source review.
This MVP does not invent category rates or final value percentages.
Formula explanation
Estimated amount received = gross sale amount - selected eBay-style fees. Profit mode subtracts product, shipping, and advertising costs after fees.
Reverse fee mode estimates the customer charge needed to reach a target received amount. Platform comparison mode applies the same sale inputs across PayPal, Stripe, Etsy, and eBay.
Example calculation
Sample only: if the customer pays 100.00 and you enter a reviewed custom fee amount of 10.00, the estimated amount received before product costs is 90.00.
Sample values are for explaining the math only. They are not official platform fee rates.
Try USD 100.00 as customer pays, then add shipping charged, product cost, shipping cost, ad cost, and a reviewed custom fee amount if you have one.
Custom fee override
Use custom fee override if you know the fee amount from a seller invoice, fee preview, or manually reviewed official source.
If the selected source data has not been manually verified, the result card shows “Fee data requires manual review.” In that case, custom override is the safest way to model a fee you have checked yourself.
Use your own fee rate if you have a current platform fee schedule. Unverified fee data is not presented as confirmed.
Source status
Fee data requires manual review before any rate should be treated as verified.

FAQ
How are seller fees calculated?
eBay fees are usually estimated from the gross sale amount, fixed charges, optional international or conversion charges, and any custom fee amount you enter.
Why can the actual fee differ from this estimate?
Actual fees can differ because platforms may use account-specific pricing, card type, buyer location, category, dispute, refund, tax, subscription, promotion, or custom pricing rules.
Does this calculator include international fees?
International fees can vary by marketplace and buyer location. They are not assumed unless reviewed data or your custom fee amount accounts for them.
Does this calculator include currency conversion?
Currency conversion can depend on listing marketplace and payment flow. Use a reviewed custom fee amount if conversion applies.
Does this calculator include VAT or sales tax?
sales tax is not treated as verified fee data for United States. Do not use the result for US tax filing. Confirm sales tax and income reporting with official sources or a qualified professional.
Can I enter my own custom fee rate?
You can enter a custom fee amount with the custom fee override toggle. If you prefer to model a rate, calculate that fee amount from your checked rate first, then enter the amount.
